Make up on wrinkles

Those wrinkles refuse to stay away. Lots of moisturizer will not make them vanish from my dry skin and it's a hell to try to do a makeup. I rarely use makeup because I'm very lazy and I use to prickle myself in the eyes unaware of looking like a panda afterwards.

I tried to do a soft smokey makeup for a night in town. I didn't use eyeliner because it tends to get smudgy and only paint cat eyes if there is no wind outside. You can see on the photo below that I didn't use any highligher under the eyebrows. With age comes wrinkles and it's better to avoid glittery eyeshadows, they will only make you look even older ;). I also avoid using too much concealer (or none at all) under the eyes or dry powder wich only makes the skin even dryer.

Ready for a movie night. We saw Captain America the Winter soldier. I loved it. Well I'm a big Marvel Movie fan and especially of the Captain. It had an interesting message, a vague critic against the mapping of peoples behaviour on the internet (helloo Google), wich of course Captain America disagree to "What happened to freedom?"

Letters in the mail

 My real mailbox has been busy theese weeks and I will tell you the reasons. 
First our swedish ebay site had an auction with short time left on their homepage that I couldn't resist: I bought this octopus necklace for less than a dollar. I will use it for a project, maybe a necklace or a fascinator...oh please give me suggestions!!!

I was the first to leave a comment on the Insomniac's Attic and for that she rewarded me with a gift and sended it all the way from Canada. A sheer long, full width petticoat!!! How generous isn't that? The quality is amazing and it flows around the legs. I fell in love with it instantly. 

Look at the lovely details! It's a bit crinkly after the package but i think that is perfect. I will use it as a skirt and as a petticoat. These petticoats comes in several colours and can be found at the Insomniacs beautiful webstore. She sells lots of beautiful vintage interior things with a darker twist.

On top of that she added this lovely scull decoration. I hung it at my hall mirror right away. Memento Mori says the text on the head. The back is covered with silver glitter. 

There are lot's of Shabby chic people that write the text Carpe Diem on their walls....I'm thinking of writing Memento Mori instead. It's like Carpe Diem but more underlined, serious. That you shouldn't take life for granted and use your life to something useful. The life as a living is just a second compared to the time of death. Don't waste it!

There has also been lovely letters and postcards left in my mailbox. Oh It's like Christmas day every day! I have sent a few letters myself and have lots of letters to answer this weekend. I've joined a wonderful little group of letter writers. I have missed the excitement of having a letter in the mail and sending letters to dear friends. The letters I've been writing so far has tend to be long and rich of words. This is how I am; Give me a pencil and a paper and I will poop words (there is a swedish word for that...don't know the english one). It's a little harder to write the blog actually, words doesn't flow exactly. And if I speak, god I begin every sentence three times and speak very slow and prefer to not speak at all, if I'm not very eager to tell my opinion though. I long for the weekend now, a crackling fire in the stove, writing a bunch of letters in the light of a paraffin lamp an owl howling outside in the woods......

Maybe it's the movie we saw that put me in this cosy mood. I've just seen The woman in black, on dvd. It totally freaked me out and it was a wonderful movie. The perfect classical ghost story. I recommend it to all of you who haven't seen it.

Real people

Äntligen har svt lyckats att göra en egen tvserie som jag tycker är värd att följa. Om ni inte har börjat titta på serien Äkta människor så vill jag rekommendera att kika på de första avsnitten på svt play.
Det är en sci-fi som utspelar sig i nutid, vilket gör att den inte känns sådär tillspejsad som vissa sci-fi filmer kan göra.


At last the swedish television has succeded to do a tv series that catch my interest. I could recommend you to watch the first episodes on svt play.
It's a science fiction that is happening in present time, wich makes it more realistic than other sci-fi series can be.

Det som jag gillar bäst med filmen är hur hubotarna lyckas locka fram människans sämsta egenskaper. För visst kan man väl bete sig hur som helst mot en robot som ser ut som en människa? Den har ju inga känslor eller åsikter och kan inte bli sårade. Eller hur är det egentligen med det?


The best is how the hubots (humanoid robots) tends to induce humans worst behaviours. Sure you can behave the way you like against a robot that looks like a human, isn't that true? Because it doesn't have any feelings or opinions and the can't get hurt, or can they?

Eftersom en sciencefiction måste innehålla lite action också så finns även ett sådant element med, den grenen av historien är faktiskt den som har fungerat sämst hittills. Eva Röse har lite svårt att spela hubot med stoneface, det spritter i de små ansiktsmusklerna och kroppen vill gärna göra mjuka rörelser.


Tack för de snälla kommentarerna som jag har fått. Det blir fortsatt lite gott o blandat här på bloggen. Jag är väl inte den enda som känner mig oinspirerad just nu. Jag tror att jag behöver vara utomhus lite mer och njuta av snön och dagsljuset. På söndag blir det i alla fall av då ska vi vara funktionärer på bandyturneringen. 


And because it is a science fiction it needs some action contents as well. That part of the story is actually the most boring one. Eva Röse who plays the evil one have difficulties to play a hubot with a stoneface, her tiny face muscles leaps and she have tendency for soft moves.


Thanks for all the cute comments! I will continue to post spreaded topics. Perhaps I'm not the only one with lack of inspiration right now. I think I need to be outdoors a lot more and enjoy the daylight and snow. We will have the opportunity on sunday when we will be helping hands at the bandy games.

My day

Det är egentligen min sons födelsedag idag. Men eftersom barnen är hos deras andra föräldrar och vi är helt ensamma så ville han fira mig idag lite i förväg. När jag vaknade så fick jag 3 stora paket på sängen. De innehöll en gammal cylinder hatt och biljetter till bioföreställning. Eftersom Sherlock Holmes har premiär nästa vecka så blir det definitivt den vi ska se.

It's actually my sons birthday today, but since we are alone at home and the children are with their other parents, Johan wanted to give this day to me. And celebrate my birthday in forehand. When I woke up he came to the bed with 3 big birthday presents. I got this antique top hat and tickets to a movie show. The premiere of Sherlock holmes is next week so I will definitely go and see it.

Och så fick jag ett komponentskåp att ha alla mina smyckesdelar i. Det är perfekt eftersom de ligger huller om buller i två lådor i en oreda. Nu funderar jag på hur jag ska sortera allt.

And a cabinet for my jewellery supplies. That is perfect because right now they are laying scrambled in two boxes with no order at all. Wonder how I will organize everything....

Sen bestämde jag att vi skulle ut och gå eftersom det var en underbar dag. Så här följer lite bilder på hur det ser ut i omgivningarna där vi bor.

När vi kom in från kylan, serverade jag hemlagad glögg på äppelmust tillsammans med russin, mandlar och pepparkakor. Så tittade vi på utdelningen av Nobels fredspris. 3 fantastiska kvinnor fick priset detta år. Resten av kvällen kommer vi att tillbringa hemma, äta kinamat och titta på film.

Igår var det julfest på jobbet. Jag saknade revbenen och definitivt grönsakerna. Det fanns bara rödbetssallad. Jag blev tvungen att som vanligt plocka av dekorationerna för att få i mig lite vitaminer och fibrer.

When we came inside from the cold I served home made spiced applejuice with almonds, raisins and gingerbreads while we watched the ceremony at Nobel peace price on tv. Three amazing women won this year.  The rest of the evening will be spent at home eating china food and watch a movie.

Yesterday was a christmas dinner party at our company. I missed the ribs and definitely vegetables on the buffé. There were only beetroots in mayonaise. I had to pick the decorations, green kale to get some vitamins.

De flesta kollegerna var lugna och städade men några blev väldigt fulla, ja som en vanlig svensk firmafest.


Most of the colleagues stayed calm but some got very drunk, well it was a traditional swedish company party.

An unordinary birthday present

Stackars Johan! Jag hann aldrig fixa någon riktig födelsedagspresent åt honom det här året. Semester och tid som flög iväg är min ursäkt. Dagen innan bakade jag en choklad och hallontårta och på födelsedagen pilade jag ner till studion för att göra en present strax innan gästerna kom.

Poor Johan. I really didn't have time to fix a proper birthday gift for him this year.

Vacation, time flew away and suddenly it was too close is my apologize for this. I made a raspberry and chocolate layer cake the day before and just before the other guests arrival, I went down to my studio to fix a quick gift.

Jag tog en papplåda och dekorerade med lite olika urverksdelar och en nyckel. Det blev lite steampunkigt. Inuti den dekorerade lådan ligger själva presenten som ni ju självklart kan se vad det är, ja en röjsåg...Alltså en liten en, fungerar gör den ju inte heller. Det är bara en modell av den riktiga som jag köpte för några veckor sedan till fäboden.

 I took a cardboard box and decorated with some clockwork pices and a key. It looks a bit steampunk. Inside the box was the gift itself. Of course you see what it is, a bruschcutter!! Well its a small one, and doesn't work properly. It's a model of the real one I bought a few weeks earlier for the cottage.

Hade ju inte riktigt pengar för detta men när jag fick höra att Sisters of Mercy kommer till Sverige för några spelningar i mörkaste november så måste jag ju köpa biljetter. Åh va jag ser fram emot den konserten!

I really didn't have the money for it, but when I read the news about Sisters of Mercy coming to Sweden for a few gigs in darkest november, I just had to buy tickets. Im so looking forward to see them.

Ett litet filmtips måste jag flika in också lite spontant. Pojkarna sitter just nu och tittar på en film jag köpte i realådan. Om man gillar Steampunk och Jim Carrey så är denna rulle en fin combo. Underbart filmat och klyftiga barn. Syskonen Baudelaires olycksaliga liv heter den.

I have to give you a nice movie tip. I you enjoy both Jim Carrey and Steampunk, here you have the perfect combination of both. Wonderful footage and clever children. A series of unfortunate events.

Imorgon är sista dagen på min semester, om den bara kunnat räcka liite längre...Nätterna blir kallare nu och sommaren går mot sitt slut. Det är dax att ta hand om grönsakerna. Dessa lökar som ligger på tork heter potatislök, av den enkla anledningen att om man sätter en lök så får man några till. Jag skall spara dessa som utsäde i en papperspåse tills nästa vår.

Tomorrow will be the last day of my summer vacation, wishing it could last a little bit longer. The nights gets colder and I have to realize the summer is on its end.Time to pick up the vegetables. These onions is a particular kind that is called potato onions. You put one onion in the soil and get 2-5 each. I will save them over the winter in a paper bag until next spring.
